Biography

Dabke is a dance that requiring both energy and strength. It is performed in a semicircle, with between 6 and 15 dancers. The dancers, who can be both men and women, line up and execute the footsteps of the leader of the group, who is placed front and centre. This dance is accompanied by clapping, shouting and complicated steps, trying to represent major life events such as birth, marriage, etc..
