Biography

Dubai's home-grown comedian started writing, performing and producing comedy in 2008.  He quickly established himself as a person to watch, as his lightning fast wit and ability to build rapport with audiences enabled him to perform his acclaimed act in numerous shows on the iconic, Comic Strip Live in New York.

Having headlined in Caroline's on Broadway, performed in both the Gotham Comedy Club and the New York American Arab Comedy Festival, Ali is one of the Middle East’s most widely watched comedians. In addition to this, Ali has performed at major international gigs including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Theatre of Change Festival in Greece, where he has also taught on numerous occasions.

Ali has had a hand in producing numerous accredited festivals, including Dubomedy International Performing Arts Festival, Dubai International Comedy Carnival, and hosted his own Comedy Special, "Honestly Sbeaking" at this Dubai's first Comedy Festival. All of this has led Ali onto presenting a weekly segment on Abu Dhabi TV and to working with OSN as a Consultant, Producer and Presenter.

Further to his Stand-Up career, Ali has featured in TV specials on PBS, CBS, and BBC World; he has been the focus of articles in the New York Times, and was classed as one of the "Funniest People in 2012" by Rolling Stone. Closer to home Ali has been the subject of numerous shows and interviews airing across the UAE’s and New York’s radio waves.
